Social Media and Marketing for Farmers Markets on November 28, 2023 at 12:00 pm (ET) via Zoom

INFMCP welcomes Nick Stepaniak, market manager with the Downtown Westfield Markets (Summer and Winter Farmers Markets). Nick will discuss how he uses social media to recruit and engage market customers and promote what is happening at the market. Nick will also cover the importance of having marketing strategies, which include branding, the market logo and creating promotions.

Produce Safety Alliance Growers Training on November 30, 2023

The Indiana Farmers Market Community of Practice is hosting Produce Safety Alliance Grower Trainings (PSAG) on November 30, 2023 with the Safe Produce Indiana Training Team at the Purdue Extension Food Safety Training Hub in Vincennes, IN.

Training is from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (ET). Lunch will be provided. Participants must attend the entire training to receive a certificate.

PSAG training is for Indiana fruit and vegetable growers, specifically farmers market vendors, and market managers, interested in learning about produce safety. Topics covered include the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), Produce Safety Rule, Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), and co-management of natural resources and food safety.

The cost of this training is covered by the Indiana Farmers Market Community of Practice with a grant from the Indiana Dept. of Health, Food Safety Division.
